A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to invalid addresses. For example, if your address is [email protected], but someone mistypes it and sends an email to [email protected], it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date address or has made a mistake. The downside of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of spam messages, but this issue can be resolved by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also vital to remember that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

Configuring a catch-all mailbox will be extremely easy if you have a Linux cloud hosting with us. You can enable this option through our powerful, albeit intuitive Email Manager, which is built into the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you will manage the hosting account itself. You’ll find all the mailboxes that you’ve created displayed in alphabetical order and on the right-hand side of each one of them there will be a tiny "Catch-all" icon, which will immediately reveal to you if a specific mailbox gets all the messages associated with a certain domain or not. With one click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this option at any moment. If there is enabled email forwarding or if another mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a particular domain name, you’ll get a warning text message from our system. The latter will not disable/replace anything automatically and without your approval.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all feature can be activated without difficulty if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you have created using the domains hosted in your account will be enumerated in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll find a small-size symbol conveniently situated directly next to each of them. With just one click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your desire as long as there isn't another mailbox under the same domain name with this option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable this feature using the context menu that will pop up. In case any of the requirements for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not fulfilled, our system will inform you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
